NWA 17493 L3 Ordinary Chondrite Meteorite
Northwest Africa 17493 (NWA 17493) is an official L3 ordinary chondrite, purchased in July 2023 from Guelmim, Morocco. This single specimen preserves a well-developed chondritic texture with numerous large chondrules reaching up to 2 mm, set within a fine-grained matrix.
Classified as L3 (≈3.6), this meteorite represents a low degree of thermal metamorphism, retaining primitive features from the early solar system.
