A carbonaceous chondrite of the CR group that is petrologic type 2" refers to a rare meteorite that belongs to a class rich in carbon and closely resembles the solar composition in terms of magnesium and silicon. Specifically, it is part of the CR (Renazzo) group, known for its large, metal-rich chondrules with igneous rims, scarce refractory inclusions, and a highly hydrated fine-grained matrix. Being type 2, it contains abundant water-bearing minerals and fine matrix, with Ni-bearing sulfides and well-preserved chondrules.
