This authentic NWA 12241 Martian meteorite is a rare fragment originating from the planet Mars. Classified as a Shergottite, this meteorite formed through volcanic processes on Mars before being ejected into space by a powerful asteroid impact and eventually landing on Earth.

NWA 12241 was reportedly found in Algeria and purchased in August 2018 from a meteorite dealer in Bordj Badji Mokhtar. Mineral studies show a typical Martian Shergottite composition including olivine, clinopyroxene and plagioclase.

With a total known mass of only 1150 grams, this meteorite is relatively scarce, making small fragments highly collectible among meteorite collectors and planetary science enthusiasts.
